Magellan Health Data Breach Investigation
On April 6, 2020, Magellan Health was targeted by a ransomware attack that allowed an unauthorized user to gain access to its systems through a phishing email. Personal information accessed by the unauthorized user may have included: customer name, date of birth, treatment information, health insurance account information, member ID, other health-related information, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, and in some cases social security numbers and other financial information.

Magellan is a managed health care company whose customers include health plans and other managed care organizations, employers, labor unions, military and governmental agencies, third-party administrators, and individuals enrolled in its Medicaid and Medicare programs.
